Sustainable Design

In the past four years, Mandel Group has been dedicated to sustainable development and responsible construction practices. We work to keep carbon dioxide emissions low to reduce the impact that new development has on the environment. In addition, we only build on blighted brownfield sites or underutilized urban space, not on greenfield sites. The Mandel Group also strives to build structures representing the ultimate in energy efficiency.

The North End is a showcase for green and sustainable development. The U.S. Green Building Council has selected The North End to participate in its LEED-ND program, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Neighborhood Development. This development will be one of the first pilot projects in the nation to integrate the principles of this council, which include smart growth, new urbanism and green building.
